Alfie is a little frog with a big problem—he whistles! And not just loud, shrill noises but songs so sweet birds look for him; especially one love-sick blue bird, Becky. His best friends, Buddy and Freddy are not happy with Alfie because his whistling attracts birds that eat their bug lunches. It’s up to Alfie to find a way for both frogs and birds to get along—and continue enjoying his special talent. This story with single illustration is a finalist in the 2008 4th Annual ABC’s Children’s Picture Book Competition.
